Wayne State University Physician Group (WSUPG) is a nonprofit multi-specialty faculty practice with more than 400 primary care and specialty physicians in a wide array of medical and surgical specialties. WSUPG physicians diagnose and treat some of the most complex medical cases in the state. The intrinsic link between high quality patient care, medical research, and training the next generation of physicians allows WSUPG to advance medicine in the metropolitan Detroit community and beyond.
Since 2013, Karen has been a Revenue Cycle Consultant with Ingenious Med which is based out of Atlanta, GA. In this role, she manages software solutions for their clients. Previously, she held multiple roles with Emory Healthcare where she was responsible for a team of 30 people, including seven direct reports. At WSUPG, Karen will be a key contributor to the organization. Reporting to the Vice President of Clinical Operations, she will oversee critical front end revenue cycle functions and a centralized patient access center. She will direct pre-visit functions and processes including: registration, insurance verification, referral management, pre-authorization, and pre-visit financial counseling. In addition, Karen will oversee specialty-based call center pods for the ambulatory staff.
